Guided Tour of Ciutadella, Olivar Palace House and Monte toro

If you want to discover Menorca's past, this excursion to the island's former capital is ideal. The cobblestone alleys, churches, and palaces of Ciutadella make it a pleasure to explore on foot. We will start with a guided tour. The Born square, surrounded by palm trees, is considered one of the most beautiful in Spain. There are also sumptuous palaces hidden in the surrounding alleys. You will visit one of these aristocratic mansions, Casa Olivar, from the 17th century, full of antiques and tapestries, boasting luxurious frescoes on the ceiling. "The old town is a maze of narrow, winding streets lined with honey-colored buildings bathed in sunlight, while the small fishing port is as beautiful as a painting," says Helen. You will then have a couple of hours to stroll at your own pace. Browse the wide variety of shops in the center, where you can buy souvenirs, trinkets, clothes, and much more. It's also market day with more local products, textiles, and leather goods. Don't forget to buy a pair of "abarcas," as you will see most locals wearing the typical Menorcan sandals. Or take the time to visit a museum, go to the cafes by the port, or visit the Baroque cathedral. Before finishing the excursion, you will head to Monte Toro, the highest point on the island, to enjoy views of the sea and take photos.
